On The Rock

Tonight at the General Council meeting the youth led worship. We know that ought can be wonderful conduits for the spirit and tonight was no different. There was  a theological reflection offered by a young man who spoke of how appropriate it was that we are looking at changing the church as we sit here in Newfoundland, the “Rock.” He spoke of how Jesus spoke of Peter being the rock on which the church will be built and how even though we might be standing at the edge of a cliff and we may just need to jump as the drop may not be as far as we think and it might not be as scary as we think. It is time that we just “do it.” This reflection was worthy of any ordained minister, it was moving, passionate, inspirational, and emotional.

Although I know that I already posted tonight but the Spirit moved in this place when he spoke and I needed to pass this along.
