Little Free Library Guardians – Do you love to see things organized and don’t mind a little cold?  We need a couple of people to keep an eye on our Little Free Library and tidy it when necessary!  People are still using it in the winter, but it often gets a little messy as they dash away after grabbing a book!

Property CommitteeAre you able to do small repairs, and general What are Tools? - Twinklmaintenance? Would you be interested in calling someone to help us get some electrical work done? Our property committee could use a hand!  We would love to develop a list of people who can help out with odd jobs or have specialized skills like electrical or wood-working.  Call the office if you can help!

COOKIE BAKERS for West Broadway Community Ministry Meals – A big “THANK YOU” to those who have been bringing in cookies for WBCM! There is an ongoing need for cookies for meals that we will be preparing and delivering to the West Broadway soup kitchen in the coming months. The guests who come to the site for an evening meal are especially fond of homemade treats—which they seldom get. If you can bake and donate a few dozen cookies of any kind (at any time that suites your schedule), please label the package “FOR WEST BROADWAY” and bring your donation to the church during office hours or before Sunday worship at the church. Gwen or Sue will gratefully accept your donation and store it in the freezer until the next meal preparation/delivery day. Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated.

Sunday Morning Shovel Crew – If you don’t mind doing a little light shoveling or sweeping, please feel free to come a little early and clear off the steps on Sunday mornings before church.  All of the shovels, melt-it, etc. are just inside the door.  No sign-up required!

Telephone/Visiting buddies – We are still looking for some people to help with the Pastoral care of Windsor Park United.  If you would like to be a part of the group calling or visiting others in the congregation, please let the office know.  We would love to have people who can check in on those who have had surgery or are feeling under the weather!
FRIENDLY REMINDER! – If we don’t see you regularly, it is also ok to call the office every once in a while to let us know how you’re doing!

YOUR VOICE IS NEEDED!  If you have feedback regarding the worship services in January with Atlantic-Garden City United Church, we need to hear from you!  Please send your feedback to office@windsorparkunitedchurch.com or laura.wpuc@gmail.com or leave us a note at the church. We need to know what worked (or didn’t) for you, both at home and in the pews, as we discuss virtual shared worship as one of the potential options for Windsor Park United Church.  Thank you!

“Un-Dressing the Sanctuary” – Thank you to Carol & Bill Belsham and Alana Davis for taking down the Christmas tree and helping to get the sanctuary set up for season of Epiphany! Also, special thanks to Alana for helping do some putting away and tidying in the balcony!

Food Cupboard – Thank you so much to everyone who has helped fill our food cupboard!

Greeters  & Liturgists – Thank you to everyone who has welcomed people to church on Sunday mornings in the role of greeter and to those who are on our list of liturgists to help lead worship on Sunday morning!

Book Sale – Thanks to everyone who helped set up the recent used book sale!  Even with the cold, sales were brisk and we made $58.00 this month! Watch for our next book sale in February! Also, thank you to everyone who helped with set-up and take-down of the sale!

Tech Shout Out – A special thanks to Doug Waldron for being the point person and for all his work with the virtual worship trial with Atlantic Garden City United Church!

“Pitch-in Crew” – The “Pitch-in crew” continues to be active!  From tidying and washing-up to clearing snow off the steps and walkway, we continue to notice lots of “little things” being done around the church.  Thank you! You are the unsung heroes of Windsor Park United Church!

Faith Beyond Our Walls:

From Prairie to Pine:

WEEK OF PRAYER FOR CHRISTIAN UNITY

The annual Week of Prayer for Christian Unity will be celebrated in many places around the world from January 18 – 25, 2024. The resources for 2024 have been prepared by an ecumenical team from Burkina Faso, facilitated by the local Chemin Neuf Community, and by the international Week of Prayer for Christian Unity writing team. The theme chosen for 2024 is “You shall love the Lord your God… and your neighbour as yourself” (Luke 10:27). We find our common Christian identity in the experience of God’s love (cf. John 3:16) and reveal that identity to the world by how we love one another (John 13:35).

The 2024 Week of Prayer will be marked by a

City-wide Ecumenical Worship Service
at 7:30 pm
on Sunday, January 21, 2024
at Lutheran Church of the Cross, 560 Arlington Street, Winnipeg.

All are cordially invited to participate in this celebration with church leaders and to pray in a special way throughout the entire week of prayer.
