Red Dress Day


May 5 is Red Dress Day, the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit People (MMIWG2S). On this day you can wear red, hang a red dress outside your home or church, and participate in Red Dress events in your community.

A Memorial Walk and Ceremony will be held on Monday, May 5, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Join us for a walk to bring awareness to MMIWG2S+. Starting at Memorial Park, we will walk to Oodena Circle at the Forks for ceremony, guest speakers, followed by a healing jingle dress dance.

Also on Monday, May 5, 2025 beginning at 5:30 p.m., the 5th Annual MMIWG2S+ Walk for Justice takes place at Oodena Circle at the Forks. If you would like to join in please meet up with Diane Meredith, Minister Candidate in the parking lot in front of the Old Spaghetti Factory at 5:30 p.m.
