WAYNE RAYMOND (RAY) FOSTER After a lengthy illness, Ray peacefully passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital on Friday, July 15, 2005 at the age of 73. Ray will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 50 years, Isabelle; sons, Dale (Val) and Blaire; his grandchildren who he adored, Matthew, Scott and Gillian; and by countless extended family, friends and admirers. He is also survived by sisters, June Hunt of Swan River, MB and Lynn Hall (Jim) of Winnipeg; brothers, Don of Nanaimo, BC and by Doug (Connie) and Wilfred (Clara) of Calgary, AB. Ray was predeceased by his parents, George and Muriel Foster, sister Mercedia: brother Glen; and sadly by his youngest son Craig. Ray was born on September 10, 1931 in Swan River, MB. In 1954, Ray journeyed to Winnipeg where he established a successful career with TCA, later known as Air Canada. In 1985, after 31 years of dedicated service with Air Canada, Ray decided to retire. Ray excelled in many sports, particularly curling at both the St. Vital and Pembina Curling Clubs, but his true passion was found in the game of baseball. During the early 1950's, Ray's natural athletic abilities gave him the opportunity to play semi-professional baseball in Flin Flon, MB and later for the Columbus Club of Winnipeg. Ray was an active volunteer and his involvement at Winakwa Community Club and with the AOTS of Windsor Park United Church was greatly appreciated by the community in which he lived and supported. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service to celebrate Ray's life will be held on Wednesday, July 20, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at Windsor Park United Church, located on the corner of Autumnwood Drive and Cottonwood Road. Dr. Sharon Wilson will be officiating. A special thank you to Dr. Lee Cummings and Dr. Hugh Smith. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. A good man is not a perfect man: a good man is an honest man, faithful, and unhesitatingly responsive to the voice of God in his life. - John Fischer KNYSH FUNERAL CHAPEL 582-0973
