It Begins

I arrived in Halifax late yesterday afternoon to clouds and a bit of rain. This will be a short post today as I preparing to leave residence for my final weekend formation retreat which will be taking place at Mt. Allison in Sackville, New Brunswick. It seems a bit strange to come this far east only to head back 3 hours west, but I suppose it is like any journey that is worth anything, it has its detours on which we can learn so much about the journey itself. This retreat, from what I am told, is all about the process of completing this journey of education and supervised ministry at AST and how do we effectively respect the relationships that have been built as we move forward. I have a feeling that this weekend, and quite possibly this entire semester, will be a time of real transition for many of us. With this I also believe that there will be a lot of emotions that go along with these transitions. As I begin this last session I hope that you all know that you are in my thoughts at this time, you are my community, my family of faith, and although I may not be there in body for transitions that might occur in your own lives (one happened Thursday evening for a member of our community, please hold a special place in your prayers for all who are going through struggles in our family of faith) know that I am always with you in spirit.

I will continue to post throughout this summer session.

Peace and blessings,

Patrick
